Throwback: Tribute to George Harrison

March 19, 2020 by Ken Ilio Leave a Comment

Found these old files (ca 2001) of a visit to New York City just after George Harrison died. We were fortunate enough to stray toward Strawberry Fields in Central Park to witness a gathering paying tribute to the beloved Beatles.

Strawberry Fields is an area of Central Park dedicated to the memory of former Beatles member John Lennon. It is named after the Beatles’ song “Strawberry Fields Forever”, written by Lennon

It was amazing to see so many young people paying homage to the Beatles, especially a troop of Boy Scouts who were really seemed to be into it.
