Taal Lake and Volcano Revisited

February 15, 2020 by Ken Ilio Leave a Comment

I visited Taal Lake and Volcano way before the eruption of 2020. Basically played tourist and also brought other tourists along – friends and family. We went to Tagaytay to see the panoramic of Taal Lake and Volcano, then wemt down to Talisay, Batangas and took a pump boat to Isla, the volcanic island. Some of us went up the crater on Philippine pones, a few stayed at the lakeshore. We stayed only about an hour and a half, went back to Talisay for lunch.

Then we went back to Tagaytay to see Marcos’s dilapidated Palace of the Sky, shopped around for souvenirs at the road stalls in Tagaytay, then went to visit a My Islands Philippines photo group member home in Mendez Cavite. The member is Rey Nocum, who graciously and hospitably guided us around the whole tour.

And I got pictures! And I am wondering now on the condition of the beautiful places that we visited after the eruption. Especially the friendly children (who are now of course in their teens) who we met. HOPE everything’s right.
