The remodelling of the East end of Chicago’s Riverwalk from Michigan Ave. (DuSable Bridge) to the lake has recently been completed. After seeing John Wick (the movie) at AMC 600 Michigan last Saturday, May 25th, with my college classmate Pons, we decided to check it out.
The walkway along the river has been paved, additional seating areas with comfortable benches have been built, new and old restaurants opened and re-opened … there’s nothing not to like. It’s still the funky side of the walk (give me Reggae/Calypso music all the time), which I like, compared to the more upscale and staid west end.
The walk up to the DuSable Harbor in the vicinity of Navy Pier was very pleasant that we extended our walk south to LakeShore drive, exiting at Randolph St. to Maggie Daley Park. We stopped for an ice cream break at one of the many eating places along the walk and chilled out for awhile.
