I visited the Frida Kahlo Museum in Coyoacan, Mexico City back in June, June 19, 2018, to be exact.
The Blue House aka The Frida Kahlo Museum (Spanish La Casa Azul o Museo Frida Kahlo) is basically the family home of celebrated Mexican artist Frida Kahlo and husband, Diego Rivera. Touring the ten rooms gives you an idea how wealthy bohemian artists lived during their time. You go around the house to different rooms, all decorated with artwork of Kahlo and other artists and then go out to this beautiful courtyard and garden.
The museum is located in the Colonia del Carmen neighborhood of Coyoacán in Mexico City. According to Wikipedia, “Since the late 19th century, a number of Mexico City’s wealthy had built country homes in the area, often imitating the colonial designs of the past. Colonia del Carmen became popular with artists and intellectuals starting around the 1920s.”
